报告人：Stijn Van Hulle

报告人简介：Stijn Van Hulle is a Full Professor at the Department of Green Chemistry and Technology of Ghent University and is spearheading the industrial water technology related research at UGent Campus Kortrijk. During the last 20 years, his group performed externally funded research on the modelling and engineering of water treatment and resource recovery processes. His research fits very well in the Capture initiative (www.capture-resources.be ), focusing on sustainable resource recovery in an urban context. Specific research projects currently running include: physical-chemical treatment (e.g. electrocoagulation) of industrial waste water, decentralized water re-use and tertiary water treatment with AOP processes. Prof. Van Hulle has participated in several (inter)nationally-funded projects such as the H2O2 Super-W project (H2020-676070) and the Interreg VI project O3G. On a national level, he has coordinated several Technology Transfer and demonstration projects. He is also responsible for the local and accessible expertise and service center on water technology which supports SME’s and non-profit organizations with advice and guidance concerning the production, treatment or management of their process and waste water.

Prof. Van Hulle teaches bachelor and master level courses on physical chemistry, water treatment, process simulation and statistics to students in the industrial engineering educational program focusing on circular technology at UGent Campus Kortrijk. He also regularly lectures in the biosescience engineering program of both UGent and UA. Next to that he is the coordinator of the master level educational program on circular technology at UGent Campus Kortrijk. He has over 200 publications in Scientific Journals and International Conferences (H index: 42; > 4500 citations; https://biblio.ugent.be/person/801001539933). He was (co-)promotor of 20 doctoral dissertations and is currently (co-)supervising 15 ongoing PhD studies. He further (co-)supervised over 100 MSc dissertations.
